For SEs maybe, but not for all. I'm an AC Elite who frequently flies paid C/J. However with its ridiculous 2D seats per flight, Aeroplan makes it impossible for me to access the reward seats I want. As a result I've given up on AC as my carrier of choice when schedules allow. I think it needs to move somewhat more (but not all the way) toward the model of the US programs. IMHO having so-called status members who are unable to redeem miles for the seats they want does not seem like the correct balance.
