It is beautiful, and I hope you have a great time in my home state. I agree that it is too bad there are no Hilton options on the coast.

Here's a recommendation for the Cannon Beach area. If you're looking for a smaller, more secluded beach to relax on, head south out of Cannon Beach on Hwy 101 for about five miles and look for a park sign for Hug Point. It's a great little cove beach that isn't usually too crowded. Although most Oregon beaches are rarely really crowded, especially by CA standards. If the tide is low enough, you can walk north around the point and see a neat little waterfall there. There are also some small caves that your kids (if any) may enjoy.
