How good is AC with respect to damaged luggage?

On my return flight last week, I arrived home to find the pulltab on the zipper on my suitcase has been ripped off. The zipper is still functional, but it's now near impossible to open/close the suitcase now without the pulltab to grab on to.

Is this worth going back to the airport and filing a claim with AC? Or will AC try and call this "normal wear and tear beyond our control" (or something bureaucractic like that), and tell me to have a nice day?

I'd like to save myself the drive if there's no point filing a claim over this. But having said that, the suitcase has been damaged and it would be nice if AC takes responsiblity to cover the cost of a repair.

Thanks for any advice.
