[QUOTE=dalittle]Interestingly enough, if you talk to Filipinos, they seem to avoid PR – seems to be a status thing. Kinda like the Japanese, they seem almost ashamed to fly Korean Airlines because it is cheaper – they tend to go for Japan Airlines. Seems to be status oriented as well. This despite that, in my experience, Korean First is very very good. [QUOTE]
I have to chime in here, I do not avoid PR because of status, I avoid them because of the consistently bad service I receive from them. I originally flew them in 1986, the FA were very rude. I flew the again in 2003, and the flight attendant would not allow me to gather my carry on luggage so I can get my baby's milk, and even reprimended me for putting it away. . . after they put my bags away for take off. . .HELLO????. Then my husband convinced me to fly their business class last year, LAX-MNL, the mabuhay class seats indeed do not recline much, and you also get a sorry excuse of a "leg rest", F/A attitude. . . reluctant to provide service. So over all, I will make an effort to fly almost any other airlines if possible, just because they have proven to live up to the Filipino version of their acronym. . PAL = Plane Always Late.", plus the lack of service. Just for the record, I've never worked for PAL, nor have an opinion of Lucio Tan.
