WHATEVER!!! I dont feel like I have ANY power whatsoever. Perhaps the pax have just gotten that much worse. I mean, how low are these ticket prices these days anyways?

As far as the comment by the original poster saying something about a FA who was flustered and did not care. Maybe she did not care...I dont know. But it could have been their first time performing that service.US carriers do very little in the way of training when it comes to service. And due to staffing issues, a LOT of CAL FAs have been put on international flights (especially in the last year)whereas they usually work domestically. So, to go from Domestic F/C to all that hullabaloo with those carts, and cheese, 6 wines instead of 2 etc etc, can be very overwhelming the first few times. And also too, although we get used to everyone watching every little thing we do-but imagine completeing the business first service when you have been flying domestic routes for years and you know that most of the business first folks fly frequently and know what to expect and know exactly when you are screwing up. And most(not all) pax are not very nice about honest mistakes when they are used to something else. In my entire time at CAL , I have worked the business first cabin once. I had one experience where I took orders and 2 gentlemen ordered "executive meals". So I let the galley FA know...according to the crew that means they want their meal altogether first thing...usually so they do not have waste time waiting 2 hours to get to dessert so they can work etc. Anyway. So, we start the service, and the first thing i do is take these gentlemen their executive meals. They both looked at me like I had 3 heads and were very annoyed that I was their with their meals. They very rudely let me know that executive meant they could eat when they wanted to and they were not ready to. I looked like a complete idiot! The menus do state that you can eat at the time of your choosing. But for some reason the international crews assume you want to eat first. I guess perhaps it is so uncommon for someone to request this meal option and NOT want to eat and get it over with. Although the crew was actually incorrect in their assumption that they wanted to eat right away, these 2 never even bothered to tell me when they did want to eat anyway. The whole point is that this little mistake(although not really my fault..I didn't know...1st time for me on that service) just made me the laughing stock of like the first two rows AC left for most of the flight. So if our company would get the staffing right you guys would not be subjected to us FAs who do not know the business first service. I am domestic trash and PROUD!
