Access to Ding without installing software

Thanks to agt, we now have a Ding access method for everybody who cannot install Ding at work. All you need is an InstallId and cksum from any Ding installation.

For example, you can install Ding at home or on a friend's PC. As soon as the first sale headline appears, click on it to get the sale page. Copy the address field and paste it into Windows' Notepad (under Accessories) or some other editor. You will be using the 15- or 16-digit number that follows "installId=" and the 16-digit number that follows "cksum=".

Edit these user-specific numbers into the following link:

Code:
http://ding.southwest.com/cgi-bin/systray?action=getMessages&installId=INSTALLID&cksum=CKSUM&os=WinXP&version=1.00
where you replace INSTALLID with your specific "installId=" number and you replace CKSUM with your specific "cksum=" number. You can omit the http:// part if you like.

If you are lazy, you can set up this link at home, add it to your browser favorites (bookmarks), and store it at mybookmarks.com, where you can access it from anywhere.

When you go to this URL, you will see a line or two of active Ding links. Just triple-click on one of the lines to select the whole line, then Copy, then Paste iinto the Address field of your browser and hit Enter. That's it.

Now you can use your Ding whenever and wherever you want.

P.S. The reason you need to get your own installId and cksum is that southwest.com limits the activity on each installId. You and your friend will have no trouble sharing, but you and 1000 Internet friends will have a problem.
