AFAIK NZ itineraries don't show seat numbers - did you call AC? If you did, I'm willing to bet that AC requested the seats 1JK, however from memory Row 1 is blocked off for airport allocation due to having bassinets. When an AC agent requests seats from NZ, it will send off as "NN" (need need) status and NZ will send back a "KK" (konfirmed). Agents shouldn't confirm seat assignments that remain on "NN" status.
Thank you for the response.
I called NZ to get the seat assignements. I called them as soon as I got off the phone from making the res through AC's Aeroplan centre, I asked for 1J/K, and was given them. Unless NZ has changed the F seating in the 747 recently, the only F bassinet is 1A/B.
AC/AP cannot make seat assignments on NZ. Friends of mine learn't this the hard way. They had an award booking but no seat assignment, got the airport to ckin, all the bizz seats were taken, they had to sit in Y, the ckin agent explained that after making the AC/AP booking you need to call NZ for a seat assignement.
