At this moment in time on my 1st night of a 3 night stay in London.
I currently have a reservation for April for a HIE and am thinking of cancelling it an rebooking it online to get the 1000 bonus points. I am also wondering if I should try the "book every night separately" method for this 5 night stay in April. It is at a HIE in the USA. My concern is that HIE's are small properties and usually the manager/and/or owner is around(or at the desk) if I check in during the daytime which I will be doing for this stay. Has anyone had any problems or managers/owners indicating/mentioning that they are unhappy (aggravated etc.) that each night is booked separately? I can see explaining that the online computer would not let me get the best rate for each day but in this case the rate per day is the same whether I book day by day or for 5 nights.
Also do you have to "check out and then in" every day in order to get the online bonus and to satisfy the requirements for a credit card guaranteed room? Has anyone who has done this been charged as a "no show" because they did not "check in" every day under each separate reservation number.
Any one have any experiences with this at an HIE?
