Thank you all for the replies. To be perfectly honest I think I'll leave the laptop at home and not mess with it.

But I do wonder with all the technology, why wouldn't airlines somehow find a way to install regular plug sockets where the only adapter one would need would be a 110/220v? Seems like that would be rather simple.

Anyway thanks again for the responses. It'll be much cheaper for me to take books!
