UA has only one advantage and that is space in E+. I don't care for personal IFE in Y as the boxes underneath the seats severely restrict space. Service on UA tends to be a joke. You have to pay for alcohol on most flights. C and F are not comparable to any decent airline. No metal cutlery in all classes. No curtains between F/C/Y. Planes are not very clean. UA follows the typical “bring your own fridge” carryon policy so that you don’t have
any chance to store your hand luggage if you are among the late arrivers (I never understood why most NA passengers try to board first, I really like to board last because it gives me more time for other things to do than sit on an airplane).
A colleague of mine (a dedicated BA flyer) calls UA the "slum on wings". This is a bit harsh, but on the other hand...
