I stayed at the Marriott a few weeks ago for a convention, but took time to visit the Hilton. The hotel seemed to be very pleasant and the staff very friendly(greeted with hello's and smiles from everyone). I am thinking about coming back next year and staying here. I love the Marco Island location. Yes it's Florida, but it seems to be a very different Florida, away from the strip malls and congestion just 15 miles to the north in Naples. There are good restaurants everywhere, and an outlet 5 miles out of town. For a change of pace, church groups and civic organizations had flea-markets set up in town while we were there. You can jet-ski, parasail, fish and collect exotic seashells. To the south you have the Everglades and all the touristy attractions i.e. airboat rides, gator farms. The other thing the area allows you to do is relax and enjoy the beautiful Gulf beach. Marco seems to have escaped some of the devistation that areas just an hours north experienced. As SteveR325 mentioned, rates vary for the time of year you visit, so be careful how you burn points. Rates during February 17-21 this year were running about $250-300 a night.
