Folks,
I am taking my family of 6 to Puerto Rico next month. We are looking forward to trying out the Westin for the beach and the pools. I've reviewed the existing threads on the Westin in the past and it looks like we will probably try the Japanese restaurant on-site and probably look for off-site dining for dinner the remaining nights (5 out of 6). The other restaurant mentioned a few times was Antojitos and we will probably give that a shot. Are there any other restaurants that you would recommend? We will have a car. In the past, the restaurant tips from this Board have always turned out great! Thanks.
Also, I'd be interested in any advice on things to do and see. We are planning part of a day in Old San Juan (although I still need to research exactly what we're going to see there), part of a day in the Rain Forest (again, I'm not sure what to do or see there--we have a 2 year old so big time hiking is not an option), and we are thinking about hitting the cave.
Finally, any insights on the beach at the Westin Rio Mar would be appreciated. We often bring our boogie boards for trips to Hawaii and we are wondering if the Rio Mar beach is a "wave beach". We also usually bring our snorkels and we are wondering if you can snorkel off of the Westin's beach or if there is something near by that is great snorkeling (unfortunately, I don't think our 2 year old will allow us to spend a day heading to Culebra).
Thanks for your insights! I promise a full report in exchange.
