I am not sure what C class is used for but you do have another option.

QF302 (op by BA) BKK-SYD dep at 18:15 arriving in SYD at 06:05
connecting to either
QF415 to MEL dep 08:00 arriving at 09:30
or to
QF2 (which has D availability from SYD-MEL) dep 08:05 arriving at 09:35

depending on whether you'd rather do immigration at SYD with the T1-3 shuffle or just connect at international
