So best to check what booking class a youth ticket is. AFAIK you won't get miles on AA but MH should be OK.
Be aware that MH only credits miles for international flights. E.g. if you take a flight from KUL to Kota Kinabalu, that goes on to somewhere else (meaning the flight number is in the range mentioned above), you won't get any miles.
So make sure you take your FC flight to SIN and not Johora Baru (..or whatever the name was)
Enjoy your flights on MH, its a great airline, even in Y!
