It is actually more annoying when a window pax puts their laptop bag in that middle space as there is no way a laptop bag will fit in the tiny space on the end towards the aisle. I am an aisle person so I always make it a point to make sure my bag doesnt cross over the 50/50 line.

Yes, I'd say about 2/3 of that space is the aisle passengers, but regardless of whose bag ends up there, it ends up crossing the DMZ since it has to go lengthwise to not impede the exit space.
