They have always had these boxes. They are not on evey seat as some of them are for the airphone/audio and some are for empower which only works for me or isn't covered up about 25% of the time.

You laptop bag does fit, but you end up with less leg room than if you were in E+. If I have work to do then the exit rows or F bulkheads on this plane are the only place I found that I can use my laptop for an extended period of time.
