I sat in 10J on AMS-DTW recently and definitely appreciated the flat-topped slide case. But about 2/3 through the flight an FA asked me not to put my feet there. Then I noticed a tiny "do not sit here" sign on the slide. OTOH, the FA's had no problem with me placing trash on the slide for them to pick up when they came around.
