Another example of the wonderful protections brought to the US by lawyers. I'm convinced that conversations with fellow passengers could also interfere with listening to crew instructions so I certainly hope they are forward thinking enough to ban those next. And I have yet to see definitive proof that bringing your own snacks on board doesn't interfere with avionics so until we have a 3 year long tax payer funded study on that, those really shouldn't be allowed either.
