I remember checking a few times over a several month timespan as far in advance as was possible, and I could not book anything.
I think I was told that since there are very few seats in F- CO awards are only allocated 1 seat per flight. LAX - SYD is a hard one to get even 11 months ahead of time. LAX - MEL is not as hard to do.
