If she is starting from Dublin then I think the ferry/train option may be worth considering.

She could take a ferry from Dublin to Holyhead at 5.30 pm, a local train from Holyhead to Crewe at 8.05 pm, and then the overnight sleeper train from Crewe to Inverness. From Inverness she could either drive or take the train to Kyle of Lochalsh on what is described as one of the most scenic railways in the British Isles.
