Better than Spoon .. AMIGOS!

I skimmed the threads here and noted my second favorite was mentioned . The Spoon at the InterContinental. Yes they tend to like larger parties more that we single business travelers.. but the food was GREAT. My room view was better tho!

For several years I have favoured Amigos near the Happy Valley Race Track.

Yes it is French and Yes the service is OUTSTANDING and Yes the food is FABULOUS.

I call it my 'number one in the world' favorite.

They seem to enjoy we business travelers alone as well as couples and group.

The place IS a cab ride from most hotels .. and from the outside looks unimpressive. Inside I felt more Spanish with wood beams and white plaster.. but the army of staff in their Tux's proved me immediately from.

One night I was at the Spoon and then the next night at Amigos .. I really think the overall experience (food, service, wine) was STILL BETTER at Amigos!

If I have stepped on this thread I am sorry .. and will not get into the go-to-cleveland for hot-dogs argument! We all have our favorites in the world like to share them! For example on of my most intersting breakfasts was a flood of egg salad sandwiches three mornings on a trip in the Cathay Pacific lounges... dont ask WHY they are good .. but they are!
