This explains a couple recent trips. Our corporate travel desk always books in "coach." Recently, I ended up where my itinerary in united.com said:

Cabin: United First
Booking class: QUP

The "up" was a hint to me of what happened. Later on, I saw the "A" class as mentioned on my boarding pass or itinerary.
