Thanks!
The upgrading of MD11 front cabins will commence later this year, Oct/Nov timing so all are still in old config. The seats are reasonable with foot rests etc. and the pitch is ok, they are ok for sleeping but not as good as with many others have, they do not recline even close to flat..pillows and blankets are very good in J, though.
Inflight food service is reduced on this "after midnight" BKK-HEL leg as the "real dinner" (which is usually really good) is server on SIN/HKG-BKK leg the same ac makes before stopping in BKK. If you are flying back on the same route, you can also have a light dinner in their lounge @HEL before your flight. You will get a light dinner and a full breakfast on this leg. Wines are always really good in AY long haul J. Depending on the ac in use, there might a PTV (with no VOD service) or in some planes they will hand out portable DVD players and then you can ofcourse decide when to start your movie...amenity kit is just airplugs and socks, other stuff available in the J lavs, if needed.
Service can from good to excellent but as AY doesn't have an F product, you're flying their flagship service which I would in general rate as very good, expect for the seat part.
