That said, the staff were quite pleasant and LCY's a fun airport to fly out of.
Something not quite right here. Scot Airways J class pax are sat at the front of the cabin and receive different cabin service, like meals and full bar service (yes, in a 30-seat turboprop) whereas those of us at the back (Y fare £69 each way) get coffee and shortcake biscuits.

The 328 may be a turboprop but is a brilliant high-speed performer and on Friday made a takeoff-to-touchdown run from Edinburgh to LCY of 59 minutes. Beat that, ANY jet on this route nowadays going into Heathrow !

Meanwhile everyone else was in chaos at EDI due to what seemed very minor bad weather in London that morning. BA had multiple cancellations, Easy to Luton over 3 hours late, Scot got away slightly late but due to the aforementioned good performance were into London ON TIME. And although we were on the 12.30 flight which usually carries a handful, it was full with a whole lot of fully-flexible BA/BD travellers who had transferred. A worthwhile extra load for Scot's revenue.

And they have long had their own mileage scheme. Do 10 single flights with them and you get a free off-peak roundtrip, or shopping vouchers for Marks & Spencer (the latter apparently very popular). Apparently Merlyn Suckling, the Scot MD Roy Suckling's wife, also Commercial Director and power-behind-the-throne, likes shortcake and shops at M&S. Maybe there's a message about powerful wives for me in there somewhere (coming back OT again) !
