With all the bits and pieces, I'm not sure the info was completely clear. Therefore, I'll summarize upgrades for Club members here.

Club members can upgrade as follows:

Up to 24 hours in advance, on full fare only, on international CP flights, using an SW sticker (System Wide, grey.)

They can also upgrade 24 hours in advance, again on full fare only, on domestic CP or AA flights, using either enough 500 mile stickers or one SW sticker. (The SW sticker is only worth 1000 miles on AA, but most AA agents don't seem to realize this, so you can often use one sticker for the entire flight.)

Club members can request a standby upgrade, from any publised fare, at the airport, up to 2 hours before a domestic CP flight. [This was the change that hsi.chang was originally looking for.]

Hope that clears everything up.

For me, getting upgrades on AA transborder flights seems to be a bit easier than CP. I attribute this to AA planes typically having more FC seats than the usual 12 BC seats on a CP 737. In fact, I've never been denied an upgrade on AA.

P.S.I think the details were on the May newsletter, which has since been replaced by the June newsletter. That would explain the "disappearance."
