As Swintonowl quite rightly said, it does state that there are no fees to pay if you change or cancel at anytime when you book.
So what are BA playing at, I'd like to know? Surely it doesn't cost a whopping £25.00 to cancel a fully-flexible fare?

Dear Mr Dam

I am sorry that you are unhappy about the fee we charge when you ask for a refund on your ticket.

It became increasingly difficult for us to absorb the extra administration costs and other overheads when people book and then cancel, and we now have no choice but to pass some of this on. Given that our costs are much the same whatever the original fare, we decided the fairest way is to charge the same one-off fee of £25 for all refunds. However, as you had a fully flexible fares that charge was reduced to £15.

I see from our records that you have been refunded the ticket cost. Please let me know if this is not the case.

We regret that we have had to introduce this charge, and I hope you will continue to choose British Airways for all your air travel.

Best regards

These fees are an outrage . I had a similar experience with changing a B/H class flight up to EDI. The website was broken and couldn't make the change. I had to write telling them that it was OK to charge people £25 change fee if they couldn't operate the website themselves, but when it was impossible to make the change online, I was not prepared to pay the £25 fee (which had been extracted from me under the duress of refusing to make the change unless I coughed up the dosh). I have been refunded the £25. In relation to post purchase changes/cancellations, I actually think that they are on very weak contractual ground where they try to charge you fees when what you are trying to do cannot be done on the website. Let's not even start on the commercial lunacy that is pissing off your premium traffic with petty fees and intransigence.
