This new admin fee that has been introduced for refunds on fully flexible F/J/W/Y tickets is shocking - especially when ba.com will not fulfill its functions. I can understand the charges for openjaw bookings made over the phone and also the Amex voucher bookings, but for a refund when ba.com is throwing a hissyfit is very bad service. I was lucky to avoid it on my booking.

I believe the website won't be able to process a refund if travel has passed or is within 48 hours of travel. Therefore, it may be worth your while to just change the booking to a date well in the future (being a no-show will should not affect this at all) and make sure that whoever you speak to revalidates the eticket. Then, fingers crossed, ba.com might perform a refund.

If this option fails (which is quite possible) then your only option would be to stamp your feet and speak to a supervisor to explain the absurdity and immorality of the situation as they will be the only people over the phone who can sort this out for you.

Surely it would not be necessary to write to Mr Eddington.....
