BA refund...help please!!!
Hi to everyone here,
As a newbie to this site (and not a member of the BA exec club) apologies if I'm in the wrong forum. Can anyone help me with this dilemma?
I have a fully flexible one-way ticket (booked on ba.com) from NCL-LHR which I couldn't use. I initially changed my original flight BA1329 at 1645 for a later one BA1337 at 1940 on the same date but then called BA reservations well before my flight to advise that I couldn't travel and to request a refund. The lady I spoke to explained that there was a £15.00 cancellation fee if the refund was made over the phone but no charge if done online. Okay I thought, I'll do that online. But when I went to "manage my booking" I couldn't access my booking. I went online well after my flight at about 11pm. I tried several times but each time it was unable to bring up the booking and suggested I contacted BA. When I called back later I was told I was a no-show and couldn't cancel my flight online. I explained how I was informed otherwise by the BA lady earlier. I was then told that the ability to cancel online was an extra tool and that I had to pay the cancellation fee. I thought that was outrageous. I didn't even know BA charges fees on domestic C fares. Also, how can I be a no-show if I called BA reservations to let them know I couldn't travel? Please can anyone advise me what to do? I was told I would definitely be charged the £15.00 fee. Should I write to Customer Relations? Thanks.
