The old system had a $100 discount for every 7500 points, and a free flight for 20K points. So, yes, a free flight will cost twice as many points under their new system. What really angered me was that their letter touted the new system as being "easier to understand". So in addition to cutting the benefits, they have also insulted my intelligence!

If you previously used the card, you could get a free flight valued at $400 for just 20,000 points. Discounts were to be had for other points amounts but I cannot recall the exact requirements. NEW rules effective 8/31/05 are:
10,000 points - $100 discount
20,000 - $200 discount
30,000 - $300 discount
40,000 - $400
50,000 - $500
Basically the benefits have been cut in half!!
At least they are giving us till 8/31/05 to redeem at the old level! Looks like I will be claiming several 20,000 points free tickets before this takes effect.
