I really enjoyed BA F product. I would find the daytime flight to be much much better. IMO the food, the wine and service are excellent. Also when you land you get to use the Molton Brown Spa - very nice idea BA. Nothing like getting off of a long flight, having a long shower and half hour massage.
As far as sleep goes, if you can afford a F flight, I am sure you could afford a hotel. I always sleep better in any hotel then I do in a F seat. BUT, I do find the F seats on BA to be pretty good beds, and do sleep fairly well. The down duvee and full size pillow are a plus.
Sorry to disappoint you, but BA hasn't offered a half-hour massage since 2001, guess you haven't done this recently. It is now a 10 min massage in the arrivals lounge (and 20 min in departures; both with limited hours and capacity so most pax cannot get a massage when/if they want one). I do have my own headphones, but the point is that BA has chosen not to invest in its F product for the past 5 years, instead cutting back every year until it is a pale shadow of its former self. The suites still exist, but have been matched or bettered by many other airlines. The soft elements of the BA service have become a shambles in the past year. Sometimes it is good, and many BA staff try very hard, but they have a lot of problems to overcome. Finally I can't afford the time to take the day flight, the cost of the hotel is irrelevant. And BA food in F is consistently worse than AA food in J (obviously some exceptions, but this has been my experience), and BA has gutted their wine list. Sometimes wines from the Concorde cellar make an appearance and those are good, but few and far between.
