For the Seattle flyer, this will make Alaska no more attractive than Delta. Just fly whichever is cheaper and has a better schedule. If they wanted to save money but retain an advantage, they should have reduced basic economy earnings to 25% or even 10%.

I now have zero loyalty to any airline. I used to have a lot of loyalty then reduced loyalty during the pandemic. At the same time, my business travel drastically was reduced. So from now on, my business travel will be on any airline with a slow accumulation and my personal travel will be no loyalty at all. That is bad for Alaska, which has a smaller network than all the big airlines, except in Seattle.

What can AS do? Reinstate miles for Saver fares to have something.
