I have a special situation. I use my million mile status to gift GS to my son this year. But from next year the policy changed.

if my son register for platinum challenge this year and get approved, does he have GS or platinum during his challenge?

Ane most of his UA flights are from July. Should I register now or after Jul. 1st, 2026, any difference? Thanks in advance.
