Quick request - for anybody here who is already MNL T3, would it be possible for you to swing by the SQ lounge, mentioned what’s happening with the CX lounge (which I don’t think would at all be a surprise for the SQ lounge staff, as airlines or at least airline staff at any given airport tend to know what’s going on) and to ask about any similar imminent closure of the SQ lounge? I’m obviously going to be approaching SQ officially tomorrow morning, but it would be great to be armed with what is being said on the ground at the lounge and what the lounge staff are voluntarily informing to passengers.
Naturally, if the staff happen to talk a bit more freely and mention other airline lounges which are also being closed then that would be great information to bring back either here or to shoot to me on PM.

FWIW, I have earlier this evening already approached the airport operating authority of course for their comments on all of this, an explanation for these closures and a rundown of what the airport authority expects to do to ensure that premium passengers on all their allowance can enjoy a premium lounge experience… but I have not yet received a reply, so let’s see what the morrow brings.
Per Cathay employees Manila airport is going to force all airlines to use their business/first lounge. As such I would expect Singapore to close their lounge as well. Of course that isn't for certain but gossip from Cathay lounge employees who are now unfortunately out of a job! Very sad times.
