The flights would be routed back through LAX and we would drop the last segment back to YVR. In short, been there, done it, many times up until 2020.

Actually they are sub $2,000 fares from YVR, but they are on Zipair - or for a worse experience, Air Canada has a common through end of schedule fare of $3,200.

Another nasty recession and I'm hopeful those sub $2,000 fares to Japan and Taiwan will be back.
