Had a somewhat mixed stay here recently, especially in relation to Globalist benefits. I'd been before and enjoyed it, and so used a Cat 1-7 FNC for another stay this past weekend with my spouse and teenagers.
Positives: Lazy river is beautiful and relaxing, water slide is fun, grounds are pretty, valet included as Globalist, and the renovation looks nice. Globalist gift at check-in was a Yeti Tumbler! Smores were free and good. Spouse loved the trip and kids also said they'd like to come back.
Mixed: It was packed due to Memorial Day weekend so really long waits for an okay dinner, waits for bikes, and soooo many shrieking kids everywhere. Which is to be expected for a family resort at a peak time but it seemed extra intense. Surprisingly was able to find pool chairs though without too much of a problem and also plenty of floats. Globalist upgrade was just to a water view room that didn't actually have any view of the water, but didn't expect much of an upgrade based on how busy it was. Really wish you could stack an SUA on a FNC but all well.
The bad: They directed us to an over flow buffet setup in Mavericks since the main breakfast had a long wait and it turned out to be a very generic Hyatt Regency buffet that was... fine. But nothing like the one we had last time or that other posters describe. And then had to fight the front desk about the $30 breakfast service charge they put on my bill because "service charges aren't included in the breakfast benefit". They did eventually remove it as a "one time courtesy". But having to actually fight about that was a first in my 5 years of Globalist And that didn't happen my last visit so don't know what's going on. Also weirdly could only do 1pm late checkout on the Monday while our friends who were staying on a GOH had a 2pm checkout per the front desk. Since it's a resort I know they're not required to do anything but found it interesting.
Anyways we'll definitely not be coming over Memorial Day weekend again due to how chaotic it felt. But will probably come back at some point next year to use a 2027 FNC as a staycation as it was a fun way to use it.
