Well said. Most of the benefits worked well when Hyatt was smaller; but when the operations expanded, inefficiencies such as 4PM late checkout ripple across the entire HR system of franchises. No different than SPG. I am sure, Hyatt's flag bearers would like nothing more than to monetize or eliminate 4PM check out completely.
Most of us grumbling about it is not what Hyatt is offering now with the changes (only 2 PH being resorts), but we all have experience in the loyalty game/decision making capabilities to see the writing on the wall of more PH being resorts and more inflationary pressure on redemption points.
Don't get me wrong; people will still rave about Hyatt as they need to sell the brand, rooms, and credit cards. The hamster wheel must continue on.
