Sigh. How to kill a bit of joy this morning at the First wing.

There were parents and a very well behaved 5ish year old. Father was Gold and they wouldn’t let him bring in 2 guests. Fair enough.

I tried to have a quiet word to say could I please guest in. She looked at me like I was dragged in by the cat and spat back as loud as she could “you can’t just bring anyone off the street - that’s not how it works”. “Um actually as long as they are on a BA/OW flight that’s allowed”. Angry stare followed by some muttering and dismissive gestures “stand that side sir”.

How does BA screen for customer service chops? Yes maybe she was just having a bad day. But the whole experience seemed so unnecessary and left a bad taste.
