Here's my problem, not sure if anyone is familiar with the rules for award travel.
I'm trying to book the following award travel (60K in Business)
JFK-LIM (I'm purchasing LIM-CUZ on Lan Peru)
CUZ-LIM
LIM-GYE (destination)
GYE-LIM
LIM-JFK
I cannot recall how many times I've called AA to book this itinerary, considering that hauteboy had booked a similar routing .. See
post 36 but I'm running into a wall hearing the different responses from customer service.
Agent 1- Said that itinerary was good; however since the only flight CUZ-LIM is available on "Taca Peru", I wouldn't be able to book it and I would have to purchase the CUZ-GYE portion.
Agent 2- Said that itinerary was ok, including the "Taca Peru" flight which can be booked (similar to hauteboy's routing):
JKF-LIM(open jaw) CUZ-LIM-GYE(stopover) but GYE-LIM-JFK was not valid. According to AA rules, if I were to leave GYE, I cannot connect thru LIM was told that "I cannot connect thru an international gateway" again to go to JFK. So the only alternatives are GYE-JFK (AA Flight and connects in MIA) or (I'm assuming) Taca flights connecting in SJO. But I prefer Business Class seats in LAN than AA's/Taca's First/Ejecutiva.
And there were more agents I spoke to (I even called the AA in Espanol, was surprised that even if you book in Espanol, you get charged $5 for ticketing) but, again, got different/negative responses.
Ok, should I keep calling ?
