.. but then again, BA are never that smart or coordinated. It’s more likely the complex logistics of refurbishing/redesigning any/all of the T5 lounges without significant disruption and displacement that will be the challenge
I predict BA / IAG will make full use of the current fuel price spike as plausible deniability re the lounge refurbs. They have no investment mode to activate, they have to be dragged kicking and screaming as someone else has said here. When the going is good, the money goes to shareholders. When the going is bad, the money must be saved to protect the company. I really wish LHR would put something in their leases, or whatever legal structures are in place, that force a cyclical investment programme on the airlines, as they do at other airports.
