This is a nice perk at PDX for those that can use it--the "elite" line is typically pretty backed up--likely because there are fewer agents working this line compared to the general line. It's always a tough decision--spend forever at the normal bag drop looking for a bin to put my bag in and getting my photo taken by the baggage machine or wait in the slow moving elite line. Agreed. I have found the elite line at PDX to be a mixed bag. Sometimes it's shorter and sometimes longer than the general line due to the number of agents. I just go with whatever I deem to be the fastest. I'm batting about 50/50 in that regard.
I think that, at least in PDX, this new titanium line will probably continue to be the fastest out of all of them, if one can use it. I could be wrong though and time will tell.
