i can't see compensation is in anyway due here - the reason for the cancellation is out of scope, there is no rebooked MAN-LHR flight, and no delayed arrival at the destination.
Sorry perhaps should’ve been clearer in language. I’m not expecting UK261, I get that weather is out of their control. Just wanted to make sure they’ll cover the costs of our trains, dinner and a drink etc!
At least the train ticket won’t cost us (them?) too much - wife is a driver!
