I'm pretty sure this is an IT fail by Marriott as opposed to deliberate bait and switch but it certainly has the effect of bait and switch and it is really annoying.

The thing that Marriott absolutely needs to fix is not showing resort fees on the first screen with the points price. That is actually deceptive.
