Well this flight plus BA Amex spend plus another (cheaper) First flight I have already booked in 2 weeks will get me to Gold again for 27/28 and I might well do that. I gave up on GUFs as far too complicated to use so have no incentive to press on, and GGL would be beyond my spend/I don’t really see the point.

What keeps me coming back is the Avios not the status at this point, as I can burn them for shorthaul even if I have to do 2x Gold Priority. In the summer it can be worth it.
