So I requalified for Gold (thanks to work spend) and am flying First today, I head to the WIng for just a passport check to find the line back to the entrance - hmm not a good start. I get my docs checked elsewhere and return for F security - now I see why the line is so long as only 4 or 5 check in desks open. Through to security - only one lane open. I’m lucky as there are only a few people in front of me but by time I am through the machines the line is back to the automated gates again. Double queue for those people.

I pass through the First lounge expecting to see some improvement on the pre BAC days but it looks as bad as ever, if not worse. Ironically the crowdedness sign outside shows 3 out of 5, so I’m not sure how many BA thinks can be crammed in there!

I make it to the Concorde Room terrace and the self service champagne. When I reach for the Cuvée Louise the stoppper pops out of its own accord prompting the lady member of staff to admonish me like I’m a child.- careful you might break something! No one has cleared the crap from the previous occupants’ of my table and of course no one has asked me if I want anything.

£11k ticket and feeling special LOL.
