I also like the night-before option, but as someone said above, if it's all in one day I'd probably take the hour-earlier Eurostar to build a little extra buffer. I take Eurostar to and fro from Paris all the time, and it's rarely more than 20 minutes late (except one time when there was a really long (and very unlikely) delay - it was 3 hours late - this would be extremely unusual.
