Target and Walmart count as retail for the year long 5% promotion. Some people say that your product mix at checkout affects whether or not it comes in as grocery or retail. I've never not had a Target purchase qualify for the 5% back. Although, it's kind of useless because you get 5% back with the circle card--1TYP + 5% I guess vs. just 5%.

Best Buy doesn't qualify for the retail offer because it is classified as Home Improvement which is excluded from retail. Same with grocery which is an excluded category.
