I actually prefer J on transcon for one reason- in F, you’re at the mercy of the single FA when it comes to service. At least there are two FAs in J, and often it seems that the ones who would rather not deal with passengers are in the galley position.
I agree. J service can range from excellent to mediocre, while F can range from extraordinary to absolutely horrid. Prefer the certainty vs the variability.
The J seats are also quite comfortable. As transcons are also fairly short, I don't see the need for all aisle access and doors are just idiotic (it's like a cubicle, I can see right over them)
