I have to say, on those occasions that I've asked for a seat-swap, I've found the lounge staff extremely accommodating, when approached with the right attitude - extemely polite and just a little humble, and a hint of charm thrown in.
Then again, if my face was known for all the wrong reasons - being as Wingnut suggests above - that would probably induce a standard PFO from the supervisor, as was received.
I too find no problem with what happened - the rules are painfully clear and usually very straightforward, you get what you pay for, and if you want something else, then divvy up for what you want. Of course, it would be nice if they had accommodated BlueHenFlyer - oftentimes they will - I wonder why they didn't?
