At Gatwick, we have shuttle flights from Antigua to St Lucia, Tobago and Grenada. We also have flights from Heathrow that operate LHR-ORD-IAH, LHR-BKK-SYD, LHR-SIN-SYD, LHR-SIN-MEL plus a few other routes with a stop en-route (like Seychelles, for example, which stops in NBO I believe).
Well, British Airways only make you work one sector a day on long-haul (in most cases) and that's why you'll find Gatwick crew down in Antigua for three days or more.
They will operate a LGW-ANU service, have a couple of days off and then when the LGW-ANU flight arrives a couple of days later, they will take the flight on to one of our shuttle destinations and then back again the same day (as the flights are only an hour in length).
With SYD for example, the crew fly LHR-BKK where they have two nights layover. Then when the LHR-BKK arrives a couple of days later, they operate it onwards to SYD and so on.
