Dear nowhere,

i respect your opinion very much. and i suppose that given the international audience that flyertalk serves, scepticism is sometimes to be expected.

As i have stated before, my dad called me and i hung up after 1/2 a minute. when i got back to the room, i found the phone handle to be in the holder but that given the way the fone was constructed, its kinda hard to figure if the phone is really"hung up". i did however check by listening to the fone tone to ensure that there was a tone that goes.. tu...tu.... tu.... and it was present indicating that the phone connection was servered. I then hung up tight to ensure that the fone was really "hung" up. It would have been reasonable to consider that would be have been the end of the story and that charges only occur when the connection is present.

At no time during the stay, was there any notice stating how much phone charges were being charged. It was only at check-out when i brought it up that it seems unreasonable that we were being charged for a 18 minute conversation for a conversation that only lasts 1 minute. I also realise that the earlier removed phone charges were still present. It was lucky that i still had evidence that their staff earlier removed those calls which i have been saying were not connected.

What i am upset about beside not being told beforehand about the phone charging policy which apparently was only told at check-out that it is based on when the phone is dialled to the time the phone is replaced completetly onto the cradle. In this case, my 72 year old dad reasonably concluded taht once you put down the phone, you put down the phone? i mean all phones operate the same way don't they???

Im more upset that Rebecca Patterson, the assistant manager can be rude(talkign loudly, giving disdain looks, not apologising for mistakes, bullying customers whenever possible) not only to this customer but also the rest of the customers who were in the line.

For those who don't believe me, if you have someone that stays at that property, ask them to look at the bedside white phone in the rooms, then tell me your opinion.

In my years of travelling, im not sure whether its because im young at 23 or whether because i belong to the minority race that i have constantly been given bad service and charged more compared to the next guy who is in the same line, just that he was after me when we are in smaller shops.

Given that a few of you responded saying that PC properties do nto discriminate and that rudeness cannot be reasonably outlined, i will just have to stop soliciting opinions and not ever use IC or HI properties ever again.

I can only pray and hope someone out there can try to see my point of view. thank you

cheers,
